VILDA 2025 MEETING & SUMMIT: PROMOTING DIVERSITY AND INNOVATION IN LIFE SCIENCES
On March 6th, Ventures Accelerated had the privilege of participating in the VILDA 2025 Meeting & Summit, an event that brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and life sciences experts to discuss critical issues surrounding women’s health, leadership, and innovation in this sector. The summit served as a platform for dynamic exchanges on some of the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing the life sciences industry today.
Helena Strigård, founder of Ventures Accelerated, played a key role in the discussions by moderating an essential panel on Innovation and Diversity in Life Sciences and demonstrating how diversity and inclusion can boost innovation and growth in the industry. The panel, titled "Power in the Money, Money in the Power", was accompanied by influential voices such as Nora Bavey, Lene Gerlach, and Ruth Brännvall, all of whom shared valuable insights on the importance of creating inclusive spaces that foster creativity and development in the health and technology sectors.
Key Highlights of the Event
• Advancing Women’s Health, Leadership, and Investments in Life Sciences A presentation led by Sarah Lidé (co-founder of VILDA) and Christina Lloyd (chairwoman of VILDA), highlighting the need for investments and leadership support to advance the role of women in the health and life sciences sectors.
• Collaboration Between Nordic Countries A stimulating discussion on cross-border collaboration in life sciences among Nordic countries, focusing on shared challenges and opportunities. Lene Gerlach from VILDA Denmark and Christina Lloyd led the conversation on new survey results and initiatives aimed at strengthening Nordic cooperation in life sciences.
• Economic, Political, and Cultural Development: Global Perspectives on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion The event concluded with a powerful debate featuring Annie Lööf and Jan Eliasson, two prominent Swedish political figures. They shared their views on how global political, economic, and cultural shifts influence efforts to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the life sciences.
This debate underscored the importance of aligning policies, businesses, and scientific innovation to make life sciences a leading sector in promoting diversity and addressing global health challenges.
The event also provided a unique opportunity for Esteban Lebas, a new French communication intern at Ventures Accelerated, to immerse himself in the company’s values and commitments while gaining deeper insights into Swedish politics.
